Hygenist today. Had to book another appointment, and the only available slot was December 30th. Fantastic.
Monday
Dentist today. Got all jacked up on dentist grade face number and I had to go for a nap to sleep it off.
There was a cancellation by another patient tomorrow, so I’m off for a scraping and some sort of polishing. Then back again in a few weeks to go through it all again. Third filling needs doing. They were going to do it today, but that would take more numbing stuff, and I was Wilford Brimley enough without another shot.

This is the problem I encounter with the back posting, I forgot what I’ve been doing. I remember a basic outline of the week, but I don’t have the day to day details.
Saturday
I know I haven’t finished the desk yet, and it’s more than likely that I won’t finish it for the next few weeks. Though I am designing some more stuff, so the factory is still churning out ideas. Don’t worry, the desk will be completed. Eventually.
Friday
Off home tomorrow. Recovering from drinking half a bottle of whiskey last night. As always, it’s been a rough couple of weeks up on the lane… It’s always a rough couple of weeks up on the lane it seems…

A Quick Update
I haven’t update the site in a few days, but never fear, I’m actually building something.
I’m making the prospective project #2, the desk for my room. It’s going swimmingly and I love being back making something again.
If you need a fix in my absence, then go to youtube and search for the wood whisperer. That’s what I’m doing with my time. He’s great.
The Bedroom Desk 2
What’s on the schedule for today? More of the same. Almost exactly the same in fact – I made a mirror image of what I made yesterday, then cut the three cross pieces. The cross pieces are located at the front of the desk, in the middle of the desk, and about 1/3 of the way up between the two back uprights. It really is an incredibly simple design.

The Bedroom Desk
And we’re off. So after rough cutting my 17 foot lengths of material down to a manageable size I started marking out and cutting the back upright. This piece, and it’s mirror, are the anchors of the desk. The writing surface and the shelves intersect with it, and it connects to the two legs, which connect to the front uprights which support the front of the desk.
So, it’s a bit crucial to get it right. I’m using this new mitre saw I bought a while back for in and around 20 euros from Homebase, and it does a great job of making sure that your cuts are straight, or well angled if you so wish. It doesn’t do compound mitres, which annoyed me slightly when taking it out of the box, but after using it today it does many jobs quite well. Cutting 2 by 2’s though… it’s about as much as it can handle.
