Hallowe’en this year was great fun. It’s a fantastic Irish holiday. I went as one of Mussolini’s boys. Nobody really got it. At least the clothes I was wearing were real clothes, so it’s not like I wore a crappy costume once.

One of the most fun parties ever. Senan casually mentioned that they were dressing up as gangsters… and everybody arrived with fake guns, sharp suits, hats, back stories… it was amazing.

I love you Kimberlee

The greatest thing I did in 2009… was visit Kimberlee. I’m going back in 2010.

Under the pier at Huntington Beach. The Pacific is cold.

They were selling this in a real store. Next to the Ever clear.

We watched the tide come in to destroy this sandcastle. We witnessed the exact high point in the tide. It swept in, filled the moat then backed away. It was beautiful.

An airship, above a doughnut shop. On 7th by Pacific Coast Highway. A very American moment indeed.

I saw the aftermath of a traffic accident today. Highway patrol, fire service, local cops, ambulance. Pictures after the jump.

We were in Compton very briefly. Just dropping Kimberlee’s son off at his dad’s house. Lots of liquor stores and churches. Lots of places accepting food stamps.

After…

I got the number one.

My brother Eamon was hired to be an extra in a TG4 production known as Ealu II, a series of recreations of famous prison breakouts from Irish prisons, mostly during the early 20th century (That’s 1900’s) It features stories from both male and female prisoners, and from what I’ve seen today, it looks really good.

One of the best costumed extras of the day. Unfortunately, we weren’t involved in the same scene as the prison guards. We were involved in a scene where Shaun jumped off a wall and Eamon was his escape partner.
